Lake Kivu


Lake Kivu is known as the biggest and freshest water body in Rwanda and the sixth largest lake in Africa. It’s situated on the western side of Rwanda along the rim between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda covering an area of about 2,700 km2 (1,040 sq mi) and also stands at a height of 1,460 meters (4,790 ft) above sea level.
